Feeling Blue

I had been working extremely hard and without any breaks this past month.
...and have accrued so much comp time.
I was excited for the long weekend.

Actually, since I was using some of my comp time,
It was an even longer extended weekend.  ;)

And what do you think happened?
(Hocking House grounds, Logan, Ohio)

Oh no, I still went down to Sarasota and saw my son place silver in their division
in the soccer tournament.

And I still ate at some of the awesome digs in town...

BUT
I got sick.
(Ash Cave Trails, Hockinghills, Ohio)

Yup, really sick.
No, not just THAT sick....but really, really sick.
So sick that I spent most of the last couple of nights on the bathroom floor next to the commode weakly and unceasingly emptying every ounce of anything that was in my body.
(Happy Trails, Logan, Ohio)

The pain so intense that each heave caused me to urinate shamelessly.
Until finally I told the hubs to take me to the urgent care center.
Logan, Ohio Cemetery

Doc said It was a virus.
DUH!  Like I didn't know that.
But he gave me something for my nausea because if I didn't keep anything down
he was going to have to admit me for dehydration.
So the meds helped and Gatorade was a lifesaver yet again.  Yeah Gators!! ;)
But not even my bed was friendly.
I ached all over.  ;(
...and no solid anything was happy in my tummy.

But there is always a silver lining!
1.  I'm almost positive I lost some weight through all of this.

2.  I actually stayed in bed for almost 4 days straight.  Seriously.

3.  I saved on gas this week because I didn't go to work.
(my van, also called The Big Red Tomato, guzzles up a gazillion gallon of gas).

4.  And my son's team placed second in their tournament!!!  Woohoo!!!
Goooooo PREDATORS!!!! ;)

Ahhh....but all things come to an end.
And tomorrow, it's back to work.
 REALITY.

Celebrating LIfe

The first call I got yesterday was from my Dad.
He was so excited to wish me a Happy Birthday.

I was in the car with my best friend off to our regular Saturday jaunts.
Right away I told my dad that I wanted to speak to my mom.
As soon as she got on the phone I yelled Happy Birthday!!!!
My bf looked at me and asked me why I am wishing her a happy birthday too.

You see, every year for as far as I can remember, I wish my mom that on my birthday.
She is always one of the first ones, if not the first one, I speak to as soon as I wake up.
...and why not?  After all, it is her "birth"day too.

Now that I am a mom, I know how special my children's birthdays are to me.
I am always brought back to the months that I carried them and through the period leading up to their delivery.
It is such a joyous moment.
For me, it is important that I let her know that I do not forget her on my special day.
Because it is her day too.

And as I reflect back to all the days that are behind me,
I am truly grateful.
To God, to my mom and dad, my family and friends and all of life that surround me.
And I pray that I am given the blessing of many more days.

Irish Blessing and Butterflies

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.
~Irish Blessing

T had her recital yesterday and as with every summer,
her brother was a guest performer who played a duet with her.
This year they played the Butterfly Waltz by composer Brian Crain.
It is truly a beautiful piece.
The courtship between the cello and the piano was magnificent.
The soft and light overtones of the piano.
with the strong and rich undertones of the cello.
I was a happy Mommy.  =o)

You can watch it by clicking here.
Please dont forget to subscribe to my channel here.
I decided to make their performance my first ever YouTube post.
Excuse the video shift.
We had a double camera malfunction so we had to salvage what we could.
Hope you enjoy their performance as much as I did!  =o)

New Digs

Hello World.
Apparently that is what I'm supposed to say according to Jimmy Wales,
Wikipedia's founder and owner.
I was listening to an interview of him at NPR yesterday.
Anyways, this weekend was a good weekend.
Actually, this week was a good week.
(ASh Cave trail, Hockinghills, Ohio)

I was able to get a lot of things done at work, in my mom/wife role,
personally and with ECKDesign.
WHEW!  (I'm smiling from ear to ear and doing the jig!)
(Hocking House - Logan, Ohio)

First things first is that No Pattern, now No Pattern 2 has moved!
Yup!  I've bitten the bullet and decided to separate my personal accounts with my business accounts.
(Hocking House-Logan, Ohio)

All this online and social media stuff are my weakness and so the fact that I am blogging from this new address means a lot!
(Hocking House Logan, Ohio)

There's soooo much to do though and so be patient with me during the transition.
(Hockinghills, Ohio)

I have put the links on my side left bar so that you can follow me through email or subscribe to my feed.  I also have a business facebook account so please friend me!
(new Facebook link is also on left side bar!)

Until I figure out Amazon, please keep using the link in the old blog for now.
I really appreciate your patience and support with this venture.
